How To Remember Sign Aspects
Here I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks I learnt on how to remember sign aspects, including the effects they have, and what their icons look like.
You can always check the sign aspect cheat sheet for a list of all zodiac signs and the aspects they make to each other, but this post aims to help you to remember sign aspects, so you won’t need to double check.
Oppositions:
Effect: Challenging
You can remember oppositions as challenging by imagining two people standing opposite each other, like they’re going head to head in a fight.
Oppositions are always 6 signs apart, as there are 12 signs in the zodiac. You can apply the term ‘polar opposites’ here, as opposition signs are as far away from each other as possible.
If there’s one aspect you should learn to remember by heart first, it’s oppositions. A lot of other aspects can be figured out using oppositions, so once you remember this one, it’s much easier to unlock the others.

Aries opposes Libra
Taurus opposes Scorpio
Gemini opposes Sagittarius
Cancer opposes Capricorn
Leo opposes Aquarius
Virgo opposes Pisces
Libra opposes Aries
Scorpio opposes Taurus
Sagittarius opposes Gemini
Capricorn opposes Cancer
Aquarius opposes Leo
Pisces opposes Virgo
Notes:
Opposing signs always oppose each other, so Leo opposes Aquarius, and Aquarius opposes Leo back.
Oppositions can also be known as ‘sister signs’.
Some astrologers will say oppositions are a great chance to balance each other out, which can be a good thing. While I agree there is an opportunity for this, it’s a highly delicate balance, and these signs are much more likely to trigger each other than they are to work well together (particularly within romantic relationships).
How to remember the icon:
The icon for an opposition has 2 circles, and the two circles represent the 2 signs opposite each other. Oppositions are the only aspect to involve only 2 signs.
